House Interior Design Art Deco and Modern Minimalist

To look harmonious and pleasing to the eye, the interior of the house should be arranged aligned with the facade of the building. If it seems his face wore an art deco, interior arrangement also does not run away from that style. Likewise, for the minimalist model homes, interior was designed with a matching style. Though in its application, not a second round object wearing that style.

For an interior room, applying a lot of art deco style wearing round ornaments, boxes, or other geometric shapes, just made accent only. For example, only used for TV cabinets or other display cabinets.

While other furniture, like tables and chairs, selected a simple model and finish using cocoa brown color (dark brown). If necessary, given the black accents make it look more luxurious.

Meanwhile, if you use the concept of minimalism, because it was all made completely minimal, so not impressed empty space should be given a slight accent. For example, one table or chair that the traditional design.

In addition, too many people who like wood nyantoh, because fiber is straight, or mahogany color is slightly reddish. While furniturenya models also selected a simple, do not wear carvings and profiles.

While in the bedroom, a bedroom wall is also advisable to use bright colors and minimalist. Even if given the accent, usually to the wall behind the headboard of the bed. Meanwhile, when using wallpaper, chosen style leaves, bamboo plaiting, and so forth.

Creative wall panelling

Creative wall panelling

Decorative wall panelling is a good option if you’re after a solid and original wall treatment. Tecpanels have developed a series of panels with contemporary design that could create some really good-looking spaces. Thanks to their special material, consisting of wood and resin, the panels are quite durable and damp-proof. Better than wallpapers and lighter than ceramic tiles, these wall panels offer ornamental, volumetric and geometric effects, a great variety of colors and come in the convenient 60×60cm size.

House Protects Against Nordic Winters

House Protects Against Nordic Winters

This sheltering enclosure echoes the design of this home, which has been laid out in an H shape. Designed to withstand harsh Northern winters near the arctic circle, the H House by Stockholm Architectural firm WRB keeps its occupants cozy and cheerful through Sweden’s long dark winters.
Sweden’s H The H shape creates two intimate and protected courtyards; one on the ocean side, when the weather is balmy, and the other is protected from the ocean breezes – this interior courtyard on the land side. Stockholm’s WRB Architectural firm has created an inspiring home that is sensitive to its unforgiving environment, creating a sheltered feeling.

Lightening up the Feel of Dark Furniture

Use light or white everywhere else. Create a chic and sophisticated backdrop by using all white walls and fabrics in your space. You might even consider painting the floor white, as in the photo below. Be aware that if you paint the room white, the contrast will be greater between your dark furniture and the walls. This could work well if you’re looking for a high-impact modern look that emphasizes the dark wood but NOT if you’re hoping to make the darkness of the wood less striking. (Stick to deep color for this effect.) You might also consider painting some of your dark pieces white, as the built-in sideboard is painted white in the room below.

Use artwork. In the bedroom below, framed photos on the wall help lighten up the feel of the dark wood bed. A bedside table of a lighter wood helps give the room a more eclectic feel than it would have with every wood matching. Bold and colorful artwork work especially well as a balance to dark wood.

Dark furniture stains have become all the rage in the last few years. We’ve seen espresso, wenge, deep mahogany, and even black, everywhere. Especially among those furniture retailers touting urban sophistication and elegance. (Think West Elm and Bo Concept.) We think the trend toward dark furniture is already on its way out, leaving legions of us with nearly pitch-black kitchen cabinets, living room and bedroom sets. Now that the craze is nearly over, we can admit to ourselves that while dark wood can look elegant and “powerful”, it can also look somber and heavy. So how do you lighten things up if you’ve already filled your home with dark wooden things?

Here’s how:

Brighten walls with color. Got dark wood? Try lightening up by bringing in color through walls and rugs. Rich dark hues will extend the sophisticated look of your dark wood and actually make your dark wood feel less dark, as there will be less of a contrast than with white, or light walls. Below, the living room which features mostly dark wood tones manages to avoid looking intimidatingly dark and stuffy simply through the use of deep bold color. The color extends to oriental carpets and throw pillows to add some extra punch.

Minimal Brown and White Timbered Australian House

Minimal Brown and White Timbered Australian House

This wood-centric home is the work of an Australian architectural group that has been in the vanguard of sustainable development in Sydney for over a decade.
As both architect and builder, CplusC focused on timber to heighten the design of the Queens Park Residence.
A recycled Jarrah floorboard ceiling, reflected in the entry floor, promotes a feeling of warmth, welcome, and connection. The hallway extends through the house, like a tree trunk from which the private spaces branch out.

They also spurn the use of carpet which "will last for 10,000 years in landfill, but only 6 years as carpet”, a practice they describe as 'making landfill' that is temporarily used as a 'building material'."

So their brown/white or white/brown house is whittled down to one sustainable Australian plantation timber from managed forests. They built the house in such a way as to minimize waste. Typically 30% of building materials can go to landfill.

Throughout this very consistent home, the use of the same warm timber throughout achieves a mood of clean and uplifting calm.

The Lovely Matsudo Mansion

The Lovely Matsudo Mansion

When architects design a home for themselves, it’s always spectacular. Take a look at what architects Alastair Townsend and Kayoko Ohtsuki of BAKOKO Design & Development have done with this small 400 sq. ft. apartment on the outskirts of Tokyo. Guided by the idea of a clean, bright, modern home that serves as a place to work and a place to rest, Townsend and Ohtsuki created this modern-minimal flat with an optimum use of space. What makes the Matsudo mansion really unique are the small luxurious details – things such as the tatami mat rest area, the Hinoki wood decking in the bathroom and the kitchen’s overhead garden make this contemporary home stand out. by BAKOKO.
